Claire + Joe “Imagine”

Claire is the kind of bride who had her wedding music playlist picked out before her dress. Her and Joe chose the song “Imagine” by Ben Platt and although it’s a bit more upbeat than most traditional first dance songs, I love how they went with something that fit their personalities and wedding style. As a dance teacher, it’s SO refreshing to work with a song that’s not commonly used (although I do love me some Ed Sheeran) - I’m always up for the challenge of choregraphing steps to an alternative beat. Before starting lessons, Claire was worried their dance would be limited to what little dance experience they had together, but like I tell all of my couples: trust your partner, trust me, trust the process, and everything will turn out better than you ever expected :) I don’t think she would have ever “imagined” her first dance would include a seamless lift by Joe that made for one of the best photos of the night!
